First arriving units found heavy smoke coming from a 2-story middle of the row with fire in the basement. ENGINE 11 & TRUCK 6 ON TWO 4-ALARM FIRES
Date: 9/27/07 Truck 6 was second due on the 2nd alarm at what turned out to be a 4 alarm fire in a warehouse off Queen Chapel Rd NE. Upon arrival Truck 6 went to work opening up and and assisting with exterior operations. Engine 11 was special called with Water Supply 54.
Date: 10/1/07 What was originally thought to be a roof fire turned out to be much more. As units arrived fire was seen coming from the roof area of a 4 story apartment building. Truck 6, 1st due, made their way to the roof with Engines 21, 11, and 4 along with Rescue 2.

As the engine companies got a knock on the fire Truck 6 started to open up the roof where they found fire in the cockloft. Conditions on the roof deteriorated quickly cutting off Truck 6's Roof Team and Hookman, Engine 11's Lineman and OIC, and two members from Rescue Squad 2. Engine 11 was able to fight their way back to the bulkhead door and kept the fire in check long enough for the rest of the trapped members to exit the roof.

After regrouping outside, crews began what would be an all night job as the fire was attacked with master streams. Most of the initial alarm units would not return to service until late the following morning. A special thanks goes out to all the companies on the fire ground who made every last effort to help their brothers trapped on that roof. Thank You.
