AFA TURNS INTO 2ND ALARM FIRE FOR #2 PLATOON
Date: 12/30/06 As initial units arrived on scene for a AFA they were advised of a working fire on the 7th floor of the Marriot hotel at 2660 Woodley Rd NW. The box was filled bringing Engine 11 3rd due and Truck 6 2nd due. Due to the amount of smoke a second alarm was transmitted. This was the last working fire in 2006 for Engine 11 and Truck 6.
APARTMENT FIRE FOR #3 PLATOON
Date: 12/22/06 Engine 11 and Truck 6 responded to 1425 Chapin St NW for an apartment fire.
CONGRATS TO NEWLY PROMOTED SERGEANT BRIAN GRACE
Date: 12/24/06 The officers and members of Engine 11 and Truck 6 would like to congratulate and wish the best of luck to FF/Tech Brian Grace who was recently promoted to Sergent. Brian came to Truck 6 in 2001 from Truck 15 and got the truck drivers job on Plt. #4 in 2003. Good luck Brian and remember where you came from.
FIRE IN A ROW HOME FOR TRUCK 6
Date: 12/21/06 While Engine 11 was at the TA for an LDH drill the truck took this working fire in the 4300 blk. of 3rd St NW.The fire involved a laundry room in the basement of a house.
2 FIRES FOR PLATOON #4
Date: 12/19/06 The first fire was in a house in the 1700 blk of T St NW. Later that night the engine and truck responded across the park for the apartment fire in the 2800 blk of 27th St NW.
1900 BLOCK OF KALORAMA PL NW
Date: 12/18/06 Engine 11 and Truck 6 responded to this fire which involved a kitchen in a apartment in the Kalorama neighborhood. The truck opened up and vented while the engine assisted with controlling the fire.
FIRST DUE FIRE FOR ENGINE 11 & TRUCK 6 ON #4
Date: 12/15/06 Engine 11 and Truck 6 operated for about 2 hours on this first due fire at 3549 11th St NW. The fire involved several rooms on the top floor of this 3 story row home.
FULLY INVOLVED ROW HOUSE
Date: 12/13/06 First arriving units found a house fully involved at 6th & W St NW. Command ordered all units to exterior operation. Truck 6 was 2nd due and utilized its ladder pipe while Engine 11 made their way onto exposure D and assisted with extinguishing the fire.
ENGINE ON EARLY MORNING HOUSE
Date: 12/5/06 Engine 11 responded 5th due to the 1300 blk of Somorset Pl NW. It pays to relieve early and the engine crew was able to arrive in a timely fashion and "help" extinguish the fire. Truck 6 assumed RIT duties.
700 BLOCK OF SHEPHERD STREET NW
Date: 12/1/06 E-11 and T-6 responded both 1st due to a rowhouse fire in the 700 block of Shepherd Street NW. E-11 found fire on the 1st floor and quickly knocked it down. A second alarm was sounded due to high winds and possibility of extension to the exposures.
